It can be used comfortably in everyday life, not just for hiking or going out that requires careful preparation.However, durability (especially scratches) is a bit concerning.

Take note of the fine print--these are non-refundable due to hazardous material, which I assume is the red alcohol. If it's inaccurate, you're stuck for $13.49. Funny that they can ship it to me, but I can't ship it back.

The compass works sorta it's just flipped, north points south. But at least it is consistent. The thermometer works good.I work as a industrial refrigeration technician and use the key chain compass as a tool to indicate when a magnetic coil is energized (the compass will spin when near a induced magnetic field). And the thermometer is accurate within 2 degrees compared to a calibrated thermometer. I use the thermometer for a quick indication on the environment temp I am working in. I did use a little bit of superglue to help secure the backing to the plastic. the glowing the dark works great.

These are great little additions to any daily/edc bag or especially a hiking bag.Pros: glows I know this seems minor but it does help especially if you have a black or dark tone bag. Mostly accurate, I wouldn't say the compass is pinpoint accurate but would get you headed in a direction and keep you going that way (I have bought 2 of these and checked them and they do point North, although if you do put say a cell to close it will effect them). The thermometer is nice to have especially with the wind index just to keep up with things.Cons: the compass is a little small for a real accurate reading but it would get you out of the woods. The thermometer is a little small too but gives you a good 3 degree guess I would say. A little pricey I would say this is more like a $6 item but what can you do.

My kiddo is in the marching band so this is going on her zipper so she can see how frozen she is. 😂 They can’t have their cell phones when they’re on the sidelines so this will be fun for them to check out while the game is on. Glows in the dark so it’s easy to spot your kid if he/she has this on their zipper. I used a large paper clip to attach it to the zipper pull and it’s good to go.
