Melba's American Comfort: 100 Recipes from My Heart to Your Kitchen (A Cookbook Bestseller) Paperback – September 21, 2021

I just watched a re-run of "The Kitchen" from last year and they had Melba on. She made her Beer Poached Blue Crab. I immediately logged into Amazon and bought her cookbook. I am totally blown away! Her recipes are simple, and I plan on making as many of them as I can! I will start with her Golden Split Pea Soup, because I have a bag of golden split peas. I will have to toss a coin after that. She has added a certain flair - I can't think of a better word - in addition to keeping the recipes simple. I don't know if I'll ever need another cookbook again!

I marked more recipes in this book than probably any other cookbook I own. And I own a lot of cookbooks. These are what I would call goid southern home cooked comfort food like ribs, pot roast, meatloaf, waffles, pancakes, scones, etc. I cannot wait to try them.

I've only made one recipe (Chicken Perlo) and it was soooo good. I love Melba's writing style, informal and it's as if she's sitting in the kitchen talking to you. Her personality really comes through. I made a "version" of her fried chicken also, because I was so excited to try it, but I couldn't find all the ingredients for the Melba Spice - that's why I say a version of....and even with a few missing ingredients it was still really good. I'm lovin this southern comfort food. Thanks Melba, you're the best!

I love this cookbook, so I bought a few to give as gifts. I purchased my book years ago and as you can see the pictures were clear and crisp (top photos) compared to the pictures in this version of the book which are really dull. I’m really disappointed. I’m considering returning them. Both books (old and new) are paperbacks, but the old version has glossier pages.I’m rating it 4 stars because the recipes are sooo good. I would have given it a 5 if not for the dull pictures.

My husband and I love this cookbook! The pictures of the food are so appealing, that they make you want to try that recipe. The recipes are easy to follow also. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Catfish recipes are delicious, as well as the Peach Cobbler recipe.

I love this book already, have plans to cook one recipe tonight, I think it's a must have for people who collect cookbooks and actually use them, I have both, but have determined that from now on I will only get and keep the books that I actually want to use. So far this book has many favorites of mine so I am very excited to get started.

I'm enjoying this cook book, I made the barbeque meatloaf and the candied yams and both entrees came out delicious, I recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn to cook or anyone wanting to add something different to the meals they already know how to cook, you won't be disappointed

I just got this cookbook but have read quite a bit of it. The recipes you can almost taste as you read the ingredients and how to assemble. I love this book!
