I write this review after one use, in relatively dark sky conditions with good 'seeing'. I bought these binoculars for astronomy; something to take with me wherever I travel when I can't take a telescope. These binoculars gave me a view of the Orion Belt and Sword and of the Plieades that I wouldn't have thought possible with such an inexpensive instrument. They also gave me a view of the Andromeda Galaxy -- albeit a little fuzzy. Budget priced items are always a compromise, and these binoculars are no exception. On the positive side, the optics give a clear and sharp image and pull in a good amount of light for 50mm objectives. They are also more compact that most dedicated astro binos. On the negative side, it has a fixed bridge, which means that you can't adjust the distance between the eyepieces. The 'right diopter' focus adjustment is limited; OK for me but may not suit someone with larger prescription differences between their eyes. Also, the magnification of these binoculars is 12x, which might be a little too powerful for astronomical use, but they are fairly lightweight and I didn't have too great an issue with 'shake'.

Binos came in very good time and well packaged. Binos exactly as described.At first glance the Binoculars appear very well made but on closer inspection the eye pieces and focus assembly are constructed from soft rubber/plastic parts. Don't really know if this is a major issue but it does make the binos feel a bit flimsy and weak so I would not fancy dropping them.The optics are quite good and compare very well with my 40yr old 10 x 50 (best binos I ever owned), which at this price point is a real bonus.In conclusion at these glasses offer real value for money and I am happy with my purchase.

I agree with previous reviewer Gugghi when he says at first glance they look a real bargain and they have performed very well for me. However the strap gradually frayed away without my noticing and I ended up dropping them. They hit the ground and with much of the eyepieces made from plastic parts they smashed and are no longer useable. One of the lenses had already become very loose anyway so I was looking for another pair to replace them, but I suppose you get what you pay for and as a keen nature watcher and heavy user I got my money's worth after two years of use.
