Nice, but not magnesium...
Nice cheap bike pedal, good and grippy, real grippy. Be aware that they are made of 5051 Aluminum which contains a little bit of magnesium. 5051 Aluminum is used for cheap cast aluminum parts, I expect these to break with a good hard impact at some point... Typical Amazon China advertising, very misleading, didn't figure it out until I saw the number 5051 printed on it. Some day, us Americans will demand better junk on Amazon... Come on Jeff...

Works with toe clips/straps
The pedals are magnesium pedals and look like it. They do look nice, but you aren't going to find sharp lines or corners. That said, they are a much larger platform than any pedal I've had prior to this. Which makes it a little more comfortable.I also use toe clips, which will work with these... IF... you swap the spindles/axles. The pedals are "upside down." So you have to swap the left and right for the notch to work with toe clips. But it's easily done with a wrench and an allen key. Otherwise, these are pretty good.

Great idea...but needs improvement!
I admit I bought them for the color: BRIGHT YHELLOW! Winter was rolling in and I needed a wide platform pedal for my snow boots. The screwed in pins worked great, keeping my shoes glued to the pedals in icy conditions! When these pedals worked properly...I really liked them! I had to replace them last month March-April...with my road pedals because the right pedal would not spin anymore. I took them apart yesterday (May 14th, 2019). They were so gummed up with the original grease the manufacture used, the retaining nut had (left hand thread) tightened itself on the spindle, rendering the right pedal un-usable. So-o-o--o, I WD-40'd the inner workings. I noted that the manufacture used nylon bearing's...not bronze or ball bearings...? I decided to use a light lithium grease (Schwinn) on the nylon bearings, and the CrMo spindle, and put it back together, and put it back to use...That's where I am now! Road test!

Update: DANGEROUS, DO NOT BUY!!!
UPDATE: After having these pedals on my bike less than a month, one of them snapped (entire platform broke off from shaft) and caused me to have an accident!!! I was on a gravel trail, riding uphill and when I was at the top of the rotation and pushed down on pedal standing up, it snapped! This sent me crashing down with full momentum, striking the ground, tangling me with the bike and flipping me over, and being dragged for several yards! I often commute and tour with this bike and if I was in traffic, I could have been killed! I don't want a refund or replacement. I don't want anybody else to buy these pedals and have the same problems I have. Luckily I was only hurt the average amount for a bike crash. I was lured in by the grip amount and the color of these pedals, but pretty pedals are not worth the danger. If you read the rest of my reviews you will know that I usually give fair reviews. I did not get these for free, so there is no bias. (5/20/2021)Great cheapo pedals. Grip good and turn well. Only them for a few weeks but no issues so far

Great grip on these pedals, but poor durability
After just a few hundred miles i had to take these off and put the OEM pedals back on. In just a week or so the left pedal got very stiff. Too stiff almost to turn by hand. Then after just 4 months the right pedal bearing was shot. Click, click on every turn and the pedal wiggled with hand force. Shame as they were nice and grippy.,......Shipping was slow, but I knew that upfront. The pedals themselves seem very good. Great grip on my sneakers. No foot sliding and no twisting. It's almost like clipless.Only negative was there were no built in reflectors in the pedals, though the holes are there to for them. I moved the reflectors from my old pedals.

Nice product, but failed quickly...
The pedals are nice and very grippy. I've used them to ride maybe a total of 6 miles of trails and 4 miles on road. No spills, mud, water crossings or dust and on this last ride the right pedal has seized up and backs it self out when pedaling. Not good when you are 3 miles out on a trail. This happened 10 days after the return window closed... No way to get ahold of the company. Maybe they'll read the review and get back to me.I'd stick to a name brand like race face and pay a bit more for more reliability.Off to buy new pedals again!

Light, Strong and Pretty
I installed these on a hybrid bike primarily based on price and color. Upon riding said bike, I was quite impressed with these pedals. They are nice and wide to give you solid contact with your shoes and the studs installed for traction really grab the bottom of your shoes. These would make great flat pedals for BMX or mountain biking. They are overkill for what I will be using them for. They are an excellent value for the price.

Installed on 26" BMX Bike
Installed on my round-the-block cruiser. They look great and feel good under my feet. No issues with them. I can’t speak for their durability, but I’m not trying to race downhill with them either. I imagine they’ll last just fine on the streets.
