can really take a beating
This toy is a great toy. My parrot gets a bit rowdy and wild with her toys at times. She is a blue fronted amazon, and she is extremely playful. I feel like this is an excellent toy to have for treats, and even food! Sometimes I will put in foods, that I experience great struggles with getting her to eat, and she will sometimes eat them more than if I had just put them in her food dish. I feel like these are pretty durable, because she will destroy a toy very quickly, and she loves to swing around on these sometimes. I have only had to replace it once after she chewed up some of the tops for the cups, but that was in a few years! These are worth the money, and super fun to have for your feathered friend. I feel like they stimulate their foraging skills a bit as well.

Good for what it is!
We have gone through a lot of foraging type toys. This one is super simple but I usually save it for special occasions when I want my bird's to occupy themselves while I have guests over or am busy w something else. I found ways to make this toy a little more complicated and require a little more physical exertion for your bird. First of all hang it out in an area where the bird can not reach the cups from any perches. I like to hang it from the bottom of a spiral bungee swing. This way the bird has to climb and hang and balance to get to the cups. Second is I mix up food treats with little foot toys inside the cups. Maybe a peanut is at the bottom of the cup but a plastic dinosaur is on top of it. Bird might decide to chew up the dinosaur before going back for the peanut....also the whole thing can be taken apart so I restrung additional beads above the cups and added toys on hooks below them. This toy has been in our rotation for a while and has held up to many a reincarnation! We have medium size parrots.

Excellent foraging toy
Have 6 parrots ranging from a Goffins cockatoo to blue and gold macaws so I know the importance of hook bills having toys they can destroy and I DO purchase the destructible kind as well (to give them variety) that they have to destroy to get to the goodies. So . . when the destructible foraging toys have all been foraged and destroyed (and I've cleaned up the mess) I whip this bad boy out.For MY benefit: There's no shredded mess to clean up, this toy cleans up easily (I chunk mine in the dishwasher when running a load on "regular" cycle) and I probably won't have to replace this toy for a good while. (I purchased mine several months ago and, except for the "cheesy" link, it's still going strong.)For my birds' benefit: This toy sparks my birds' curiosity making them exercise their little brains figuring out how to get to the goodies, multiple birds can forage simultaneously, they have the acrylic beads & discs to "fiddle with" afterward and something to swing on.I gave this item 4 stars because the link provided to hang the toy is "cheesy" and obviously for the benefit of the manufacturer. My macaws have this type link destroyed the first day and I either have to do some foraging myself to get a suitable link to rehang the toy. Either that or get some pliars and crimp what's left of the link is such a way that it won't come off the chain. This is a big turn off knowing the manufacturer, if they know ANYTHING about large parrots, would HAVE to know this link is for MEDIUM-sized parrots yet they stick it on a toy for large parrots.

This takes up to much space in cage.
My Grey likes this when it is laying on top of her cage or on her play gym, but it is to large in the cage. She does find the treats but, I have to lay it down.Since this review I have found a dangerous problem with this product. I was reading an article of dangers to Greys and other parrots, when Nikki became very vocal and in stress, she had hung her toe in one of the disk that covers the top and bottom of the treat area. I had to take the bites but was able to free her. She is very tame but at this time she was in a panic. If these disk could be designed with the holes as they are but without the notches on the out side of the disk and the slits, that is what she got her toenail hung in and would have kept chewing on her toe and trying to pull it out. I've been afraid of using this toy every since this happened. The article I was reading warn of this danger, I'm just glad it happened while I was home.

Big disappointment.
I was really excited to get this foraging toy. I have been trying to order it for months, but it is always out of stock at my 'got to for everything' website. Finally found it on Amazon. My Caique goes nuts over it. Eats from it, hangs from it, and uses it as a punching bag. The BIG problem is, this is a foraging toy. It needs washed often, and well, now I have rust all over the chain. I may as well flushed the money I spent for this down the toilet. In the trash it goes.

U2 Cockatoo LOVES
My U2 super loves this thing! Yes it takes up some room but isn’t that worth it to provide good foraging? Or maybe your cage is too small? Idk. I dont understand the bad reviews. This is durable so far (month). She puts her foot on the bottom loop pulling the cups down and moves the cover easily. These are not difficult to work w foraging toys as they aren’t too puzzling. She really loves this toy and I’m so happy ignord the negative reviews and bought it anyway.Negatives - cups are flimsy plastic please fix that and these would be perfect! Perhaps we will diy a set in the future but for now she is happy and so am I. Also the seed drops out the bottom but she shouldn’t have much of that anyway. This also causes her to forage on the floor.

African Grey loves it!
I was a little worried that she would either ignore this new toy or tear up the plastic covers, but she has so much fun opening them and getting the treats out! It’s the first thing she does in the morning when she comes out onto her stand.
