better than I expected at this price point
Wow...better than I expected at this price point. Using this to power four alpine spr-69 6x9s which are 100 watts rms. Originally, I used a kicker sx350.2 from 2008 to power them. It didn't provide enough wattage to get volume/bass i desired and I was getting noise through the speakers the higher the gain went....so I decided to purchase this amp. 600x2 at 2 ohms essentially providing 150 watts rms to each speaker. Installation was pretty straight forward except the gain...because there isn't any. Instead, it's a level matched knob you set based on the signal strength your feeding it. The install instructions were clear enough to get it right within 10-15 minutes of listening. The speakers sound better powered by the mb quart amp than my old kicker. Bass was deeper and had punch using a little bass boost. it just sounded like the mb quart had more of an open airy sound. almost like the imaging changed for better using the mb quart amp vs the kicker which was a pleasant surprise. No annoying hiss noise through the speakers regardless of point of level match like the kicker had. The wattage out is noticeable so while it doesn't come with a certificate stating its actual tested output, I would feel confident saying its at least close to its stated wattage. The only downside- it's big. For a 2 channel amp, this thing is borderline a monster at over 19 inches long. I mounted under the seat, but had to remove the bolts to the seat to get it there. Not an easy fit. And could the mb quart website be any more vague about the makeup/technology of this amp? They supposedly built this thing from the ground up but cant inform us about anything more than 5 bullet points consisting of a couple words?Anyways, Very happy with the purchase. I would def buy another da1 mb quart discus amp. I recommend you give this or another amp from this line a serious look.

Even if I paid full MSRP for this amp I will still be very satisfied and for the price her on AMAZON I'm extremely impressed. I don't know what's up with the installs and other so so reviews about this amp. Im running 4 sets of 6.5" components off this amp full throttle for 10-12hrs straight every day with no issues and clean crisp sound the entire time. I'm pushing the full 2000watts out of this amp running it 4 channel at 2ohms per channel. That's a pair of components on each channel ( 2-6.5" mid bass drivers with their tweeters and crossovers) that's 16 speakers total producing more clean sound than your ears can deal with.

The vocals sounded like they came out of a pipe or long tube
This was one odd amplifier. It so badly colored the vocals on every song I played that after the shock wore off I sent it right back. I never heard an AMP that altered the tonality of the music before. The vocals sounded like they came out of a pipe or long tube. I didn't even know an amp could do that! Very odd...

half azzed o,k.
O.k. amp. I assume it would work about 60% or so of the rated power output. Blew one up but I was seriously pushin this thing bout as hard as it can go. I took it a part. melted several transistors inside. bought again and didn't crank so hard on the gain. been working for many moons at this point. pushing two pioneer 3003s( awesome!!!) in a xxl ported bed liner coated box amazon sells. Would love to see a amp dyno test on this amp, but the price went stupid after I got it. I paid like 150 so whatever for audio gear really. but at the current 250 or so, I would get the pioneer 9601( I think). Hifonics 3000 watt maybe( just saw amp dyno test, so its cool, another maxxsonic brand I believe) my 2 cent

Waste of money!
They named it properly. It might work as a discus. This is not a 3k amp. Its not even a 2k amp. It might give you 1.8k clean, 2k very dirty. I have tested amps before and no matter what I did I could not get 2k out of this thing. The best I got was a little over 1600 watts @ 1 ohm. Only about 650 @ 4 ohm. All testing done with multimeter, O-scope, AMM-1, and a static resistance test load. I have a 240 amp alt(verified), 2/0 power and ground cable(copper not CCA), 155 Ah worth of batteries and still this thing wont give me 2k. I got 1800 out of a BRX 2000.1D with 1/0 and only 65 Ah worth of batteries on a 160 amp alternator. Huge disappointment. MB Quart has fallen far.
