The mantel comes with two tiny pieces of poorly cut wood which mount to the wall. They are not even cut straight. So leveling them is a challenge. Flimsy

These look great on my mantle, but I have some words of caution. If you are mounting this to a flush, drywall surface you will be golden. They mount by screwing two angled shims to the wall that the mantle hooks over. The mantle is made of a thin pine and not heavy duty. I rated this low for value due to the fact that’s if you have some pine/pressed wood, wood glue, few screws, and are reasonably handy you could make this pretty easy for a lot less. However, I will say that it looks nice hung.I bought two of these in different lengths for our offset fireplace. We were mounting to a stone mason fireplace, which was a bit tricky. It does not come with mason screws, only drywall screws/anchors and we had to make a few modifications to the back to hang it appropriately. It is not heavy duty at all, so I worry about someone setting a hang on it or the weight of whatever is decoratively placed on the mantle due to this. We were able to find some light weight objects, but if you plan to hang anything on it with weight to it I would consider another option.

We are using this as a mantel over a wall mounted fireplace and it looks and works perfectly. Easy to mount and looks like real wood.

I was looking for a shelf/mantel to go with my Gel fireplace and when I saw this on Amazon just knew I had to have it. This was a great purchase and well worth the money I payed for it..

I like the look of the shelf, but it is kinda flimsy with 1/4” wood. but the anchor system could be a better design. One of the wood hangers was uneven on the top edge. The shelf doesn’t hang tight to the wall and is slightly uneven. I might sand it level or contact the supplier for a replacement.

Good value for the money. Where I installed mine had a solid beam behind the drywall. The French cleat hit made a strong connection. About 20 minutes to hang. I wouldn’t use drywall anchors. Holds the weight well if you have reasonable expectations. Would be easy to stain.

Sheer waste of my money, extremely poor quality & workmanship, description of product is misleading, very thin wood used almost like balsa wood, split in plac es, problem attempting to contact/complain / return item to manufacturer, left with a sub standard product.

Was too small for my project to I had returned it. It’s a nice piece, however not sure how solid it is as the wood it thin
