Good for small area and big feet
This was one of the few three dimensional standing desk mats that would have fit under my desk. I was concerned that there wouldn't be enough space on it to stand flat in size 13 wide shoes, but it is *just sufficient. The flat surface is probably an inch to narrow to support my normal stance. My shoes barely overhang the back of it (with the wedge at the front, and my toes just touching the wedge), but I don't actually feel the edge at all, and it doesn't feel like a cramped area. I also didn't buy it to stand flat-footed on it. I found myself propping my foot up on the molding at the base of my desk, which was tearing my shoe up. This was enough motivation to actually spend the money on one of these. I considered this one, the Ergodriven Topo mini, and the Kangaroo mat. This one seemed the most likely to be able to accommodate my feet, and I also liked the idea of using it backwards and being able to pull my chair up to it without it being obtrusive. The size for my workspace is perfect. Mine measures 25 1/16 wide, and 18 5/8 deep. It's just about three inches tall along the sides, with the top of the wedge being about 2 3/4". I got gray, which blends in well with the carpeting. I also think it will look less dirty than black. The density is just right for me. The flat surface is not too soft, and offers just a little relief from the hard floor. The raised portions have more give, but are still firm enough to mostly maintain their shape, and for me to feel differences in shape through my shoes. I use the wedge and the right edge to prop my foot up, instead of my desk molding. I also stand with one foot in each raised side more than I thought I would.Durability remains to be seen. I've seen a lot of people report that the nubs in the textured areas started coming off. I could see that, but it certainly wouldn't be unusable if that happened. The only issue, which is pretty much universal with these, is the price. The mats are just made by pumping material into a mold. There's no reason one this size should be $50+, but that's the going rate. Go to cubefit's website for a 10% off coupon that works on Amazon.
